Job Satisfaction

60% (Social Science)

General quality of life statement

As you can see from the job satisfaction and the salaries, you're more likely to be having an awesome time than be making a lot of money. 60% is a pretty decent score on the Happiness-O-Meter; but $33,000 a year isn't so great. It'll keep you fed and housed, but you won't be able to heat that house by burning big piles of money.

Because human ecology is such a broad field, your salary and job satisfaction will all depend on what you choose to do after you walk that stage. If you go on to work as a therapist at a homeless shelter, you'll be making less money than you would as a Michelin-starred chef or a brain surgeon. All three careers are perfectly reasonable options for a human ecology major. Seriously, this degree can take you anywhere.

Since you won't be funneled into a specific field, it'll be on you to find your passion and pursue it. Whatever route you choose, you'll probably end up with a job you like and a solid salary. It won't buy you a yacht, but you'll probably be able to afford a huge trampoline. Which is also cool, if not cooler.
