Reading RI.K.2

With prompting and support, identify the main topic and retell key details of a text.

According to this standard, students should be able to recognize if an article is about bats or Bigfoot if it's clearly about bats or Bigfoot. If they're reading an article about bats or Bigfoot, then they'll also have to be able to say that bats use echolocation or that Bigfoot has big feet. However, they might need a couple leading questions (for example, "What kind of feet does Bigfoot have?") in order to come to those conclusions.
