Just Moved to Kansas?
Q: So, you just moved to Kansas from Kentucky. You had a license there. Can you drive?
(Expect a lot of trivia questions like this on your test.)
A: Well, yes, at first. You have 90 days to obtain a license if you're a new Kansas resident.
How do they define "resident," though? Well, if you
- are registered to vote (doesn't affect minors),
- moved here for a full-time job (also likely doesn't affect minors),
- pay homeowners taxes (also, doesn't really affect minors),
- enroll your children in a public school (you're really striking out here, kid),
- or if you've been here for 90 days (huh, a requirement fulfilled by doing nothing—you could nail that one)
...then you're a resident.
