If you're coming here from somewhere else, and you have a vehicle that was registered in another state, you'll need to get it registered here immediately following your first day of residency or at a new job.

To register an out-of-state vehicle in Ohio, you'll need:

1. a completed and signed Application for Title and Application for Registration.
2. out-of-state title or registration card.
3. proof of insurance.
4. proof of address and identity.
5. proof of emissions inspection (if applicable in your county).
6. whatever BMV fees are required.

Get all of that taken care of and you're officially an Ohio driver. Good luck out there—you're going to need it.
