An adjudication is a lawsuit. Lawyers argued about something that mattered. Judges nodded, clients paid bills, and eventually, whatever legal claim was being claimed was decided, pro or con, and the judge ruled with that whole gavel thing smacking down at the end, with an infamous Judge Judy scowl. The claim has been adjudicated.
