Bailor

The bailor (i.e. property owner) is someone who allows the possession of a good or property to the bailee (business owner) for a contractual (service) purpose. A bailment is the written or inferred contract. Example: An owner (bailor) leaves their car at a repair shop (bailee) for an oil change. The process of exchanging possession of the car is bailment. The bailor gets the car back when the oil change is done and a fee paid for the service.
