Beach Plan

Categories: Insurance, Tax

Trump probably has a beach plan, or coastal property insurance, for his Mar-A-Lago retreat. Coastal areas with a particular likelihood of undergoing hail or wind damage will require a specialized plan to cover incidents which are not typically covered by homeowners' insurance policies.

Another defining characteristic of the beach plan is that the deductible will not be fixed, but will rather be reflected as a percentage of the insurable value of the home. So if you live in an area which is likely to be demolished by a hurricane, consider signing up for a beach plan. Or just…move.
