An illegal offer of value (usually cash) in exchange for a service.
Judge Banner was able to bribe several players on the Knights baseball team to fail in their pursuit of a pennant. But not Roy. Roy didn’t care about money. Roy only cared about one thing: walking down the street and hearing people say, “There goes Roy Hobbs. The best to ever play the game.”
So, yeah. Before you offer a bribe, make sure you know your man.
