Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

Categories: Tech

Ok, stick your eyeball here. We're gonna scan you. Won't hurt (us) a bit. Liiiittle tiny radio waves are gonna zap themselves all around, and then bounce back to the screen here. That pattern will reflect the individuality of your cornea (yeah, it has little wrinkles in it, each of which reflect radio waves slightly differntly). And then we'll know whether it's you or James Bond or an alien.

RFID is a common Thing now. It's almost everywhere. It's not the most secure of meters and measures. But it's cheap to implement and does the job "well enough" for most applications. So it's popular.

Oh, and those TV clickers that sell for $6 at Target? Yeah, RFID as well.
