Rent-A-Crowd

Don't Hollywood movies do this all the time?

We think everyone should be passionate about something. For us, our passion fires are ignited by the sheer injustice of the fact that prepackaged ground beef is only sold by the pound in our local grocery store. What if we only need half a pound? What are we supposed to do...save the rest? Go to the meat counter and only order what we need? That’s just crazy talk, and we’ve decided to organize a protest in front of City Hall to express our discontent. We set up a Facebook event for the big day and sat back, certain we’d have thousands of equally frustrated ground beef consumers eager to stand with us in no time.

Unfortunately, it looks like we seriously overestimated the importance of this issue to our fellow citizens. Two days before the event, we only have fifteen confirmed protestors, and two of them are our parents. We decide it’s time to get serious and call in the big guns. It’s time to call up the local rent-a-crowd.

"Rent-a-crowd” is 100% exactly what it sounds like: it’s a crowd we can rent. We pay them to show up and participate in our event. Even if they aren’t personally connected to the prepackaged ground beef cause, they’ll still make our protest look a lot more impressive than it would otherwise, which will hopefully attract the attention of the media and other interested parties. Heck, we might even make it onto the local news.

Rent-a-crowds aren’t just for protests, thought. Any time we need a quick group of people, rent-a-crowds can come in handy. Want the grand opening of a new restaurant to look like the hottest event in town? Rent-a-crowd. Need a bunch of people to wear yellow shirts and spell out “yeet” large enough to be seen from space and win a world record? Rent-a-crowd. Didn’t get enough RSVPs for that expensive wedding coming up? Awkward, but…rent-a-crowd. Basically, any time we need a large group of random people and don’t mind paying them to be there, we can call on a rent-a-crowd.

If you're really lonely and rolling in dough, buy-a-crowd options may be available.
