Right Of Egress

You walked through the back path behind your home, through your neighbor's property to work, every weekday for 20 years. Then your neighbor bit The Big One and sold the property to someone else. Because of your long pattern in using that path, even though you don't own that property, you get the right of egress, or ability to use his walkway to pass.

That's the Right of Egress. Very different from the Right of Egret, which all about birds attacking mice for lunch.
