Oh, Jimmy Carter, wherefore art thou? You promised to make the U.S. entirely metric by the end of your presidency. Yet here we are today, driving miles instead of kilometers, weighing pounds instead of kilograms, and watching football instead of soccer. So...what happened? Why did we not follow your lead and adopt the standardization of weights and distances and fandom?
