Famous People
Jeremey Bloom. The businessman and philanthropist attended the University of Colorado and went on to pursue an atypical athletic career, which included being a two-time Olympian and an eleven-time gold medalist skier. Then, he went on to the NFL where he played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers. Talk about versatile.
Since many of the well-known skiers were considered prodigies growing up, it's very common for them to have not attended college. Skiers like Lindsey Vonn, instead, focused on training and practicing and used their time and energy mastering their craft instead of hitting the books. This is unlike other sports, like basketball and football, where the vast majority of professional players participate in the NCAA program.
