You're in line at the DMV, waiting to take your behind-the-wheel test. All that stands between you and your independence and freedom is one little 10-minute test. Your friends have all had their licenses for weeks, but you're still asking your mom to drop you off because you're the last to turn 16. The only problem is that time is ticking away so slowly. You check your watch again and only one minute has passed. When will this be over?

It seems like any time you really want something, time moves so slow it almost stops. That's what we call a snail's pace. Of course, it's probably just the fact that we're so excited that we can't contain our happiness, anxiety, and emotions that makes time seem to come to a halt. But that's exactly what this phrase is saying.

Richard doesn't want to wait around for things to move super slowly; he wants to act instead. He's probably just nervous and scared of what will happen if he doesn't, especially since he's taken more than one head to get his precious throne. Hey, we can relate to that. We get what it's like for something to move way slower than we want it to, and we're betting you do, too.
