Monsieur Bourais

He doesn't do all that much guiding and mentoring, but Monsieur Bourais does give Paul and Virginie a geography book to supplement their education, which Paul in turn shows to Félicité. Later he is the one she turns to when she has questions about where Cuba is; he has an atlas and uses it to explain where the island is. Because he's the town lawyer he's the one everyone turns to when it comes to intellectual issues.
