Character Role Analysis
Royce McNabb
Who's a hottie? It's Royce McNabb, the tall, athletic out-of-towner who joins the high school in the middle of the year. He's immediately the most handsome boy at school, and so of course Mary Alice (and all the other ladies) have a crush on him. But their relationship doesn't end at puppy love—it's the real thing, which we learn when it's revealed that Royce is the person Mary Alice is marrying in Grandma Dowdel's house at the end of the book.
