Say what? Alvy's the protagonist and the antagonist? Yup. When it comes to relationships with the opposite sex, Alvy's his own worst enemy. More precisely, his neuroses shoot his relationship with Annie in the foot. We're talking about his anxiety, cynicism, negativity, and flashes of self-centeredness. He finds happiness with Annie, but he can't accept it. Ouch.
