Peacemaker
Character Role Analysis
Lepidus, Octavia
Lepidus and Octavia are both put in the strange position of being the bond between two men much more powerful than themselves—men who are already prone to hating each other. Lepidus is constantly trying to make nice in talks with the triumvirate, and Octavia wishes both of the men would take it easy. Because of the nature of these powerful men, and of the times, the two peacemakers are doomed from the start. They appear weak and ineffectual because they have no sway. However, if the circumstances were different, they might be regarded highly for their dedicated compassion.
