Setting in Apollo and Daphne
Yeah, the setting doesn't play a big part in the myth of "Apollo and Daphne." We know that Apollo chases Daphne around for a while, but we don't know where that happens exactly. At the very beginning of the tale, Apollo has killed the giant Python that hung out around the oracle of Delphi, which is at the base of Mt. Parnassus. So we assume that the drama with Daphne plays out somewhere near there. If this is the case, then it's a little ironic that Cupid gets one over on Apollo so near to Delphi. This was the place where Apollo supposedly handed down prophecies of the future. We guess he didn't take the time to check his own future that day.
