Starting with Artemis and all the way up through Katniss Everdeen, whenever you see a woman holding a bow and arrow, you can bet that she's going to have some Opinions Of Her Own. Perhaps brass knuckles were a bit too macho and a knife too obviously violent?

A bow and arrow have associations of cunning, swiftness, strength, and generally being able to run through the woods without tripping. Women who use bows and arrows are usually clever, athletic, and unlikely to suffer fools gladly. If you make a joke at the expense of one of these ladies, expect to feel a sharp pain in your buttock very soon.
