Tanis Judique

When he gets so fed up with his life that he can't stand it anymore, George Babbitt decides that having an affair will make everything all better. Gold star for problem-solving there, George. For this purpose, he starts seeing one of his clients, Tanis Judique, while his wife Myra is out of town visiting relatives.

Tanis is pretty much the opposite of Myra. She drinks and parties nearly all the time with little regard for what other people think of her. Babbitt finds this refreshing at first. But after a while, the shine wears off and he craves the comfort and routine that he associates with his wife Myra.
