Blind Benny

Blind Benny might seem like an unlikely person to teach Gypsy and Woodrow about the world. After all, he's a man who wanders the town only at night and cannot see anything—it seems more likely that the kids would be the ones to lead him around. But despite the fact that Blind Benny cannot see with his eyes, he teaches the kids that appearances aren't all that important. He shows them how to see people for the content of their character instead of their looks.
