Gypsy is definitely the protagonist of Belle Prater's Boy. We hear the whole story from her perspective and share her journey toward self-discovery and making peace with her troubled past. We know that things aren't as pretty as they seem with Gypsy (you know, because she tells us), and we root for her as she struggles to be seen more completely as a person. And then, when she succeeds, we cheer for her. Big time.
