Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman)’s Timeline and Summary
- We meet Hedley in his office when his henchman Taggart tells him that his new railroad project will have to go through a town called Rock Ridge because of some quicksand the men have run into during construction. It's almost as if Hedley is pleased that he'll have the chance to destroy a town.
- When Hedley realizes that Taggart has a wounded head, he finds out that one of Taggart's black workers hit him with a shovel and he agrees to hang the man as a favor to Taggart.
- To clear out the town of Rock Ridge, Taggart suggests that he and his goons ride into town and cause so much mayhem that the people will leave. Hedley agrees and sends Taggart on his way.
- When the first wave of attacks fails to drive people away, Hedley Lamarr decides to spare the life of the man who hit Taggart (Bart) and sends him instead to be the new sheriff of Rock Ridge. He thinks that because Bart is black, the townspeople will be so discouraged that they'll give up and leave.
- Hedley is later furious to learn that Bart has been doing a good job as the new Sheriff and that he has defeated Taggart's toughest man, Mongo. So he decides to send in an attractive singer to seduce Bart and break his heart. Once again though, his plan backfires and the singer falls in love with Bart.
- When he's had enough, Hedley decides to recruit an entire army of outlaws to destroy the town of Rock Ridge. He travels with them but finds out that his men are actually attacking a replica town that Sheriff Bart has designed. Bart and his friends ride in to finish off Hedley Lamarr's men, and Hedley runs off the set of Blazing Saddles altogether to avoid escape.
- Bart chases Hedley to a movie theatre where inexplicably, Blazing Saddles is playing. Hedley gets cornered and tricks Bart into dropping his gun. But when Hedley pulls out his own gun, Bart dodges the shot and shoots Hedley in the groin, ending his career as a villain.
