Monopoly was once known as The Landlord's Game, created by a devout Quaker named Lizzie Magie. Interestingly, this early version was actually meant to criticize materialism. Believe it or not, salt water taffy is an Atlantic City original. According to legend, David Bradley stumbled across the delectable sweet after a storm flooded his candy story. A customer came in and asked him what he was selling, and Bradley jokingly responded that all he had left is "Salt water taffy." The name stuck and an American classic was born. (Source)
