Circe's Clique: Femme Fatales

Circe's Clique: Femme Fatales

The ladies in this clique are all crazy beautiful and alluring, but they also have a tendency to lure men to their deaths. If you see one of these girls walking down the hall, you'd better think twice before asking her to go to the mall on Friday night. Chances are that a seemingly innocent date at the food court might just be your last. In Circe's case, that piece of stuffed pizza might just turn you into a pig.

Helen

Helen is one of the most beautiful women to ever strut her stuff through the world of Greek mythology. Her beauty proved to be pretty fatal, though, when it ensnared the Trojan prince Paris. Despite the fact that she was already married to the Greek Menelaus, Helen and Paris took off for his hometown of Troy. The next thing you know Menelaus showed up at Troy with a gigantic army of Greek warriors, and the long and bloody Trojan War was in full force. Because of all these shenanigans, Helen is known as "the face that launched a thousand ships."

Pandora

Get this—Pandora was the first woman ever. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create her from clay and sent her to punish mankind because Prometheus had given man fire against Zeus's will. Pandora was given her beauty by Aphrodite and was totally irresistible when she showed up on the doorstep of Epimetheus, Prometheus's brother. Unfortunately, the honeymoon was over pretty fast for the happy couple. See, Zeus also gave Pandora a jar full of all the evil things you can possibly think of and told her not to open it. Guess what she did? Yep, she opened it, and now all humanity has to suffer. For this little slip-up, Pandora might get the award for most fatal Femme Fatale of them all.

Sirens

These ladies from Greek mythology are fabulously beautiful even if they are half bird. Their favorite pastime is hanging out on jagged rocks in the ocean and luring sailors to their deaths with their amazingly beautiful songs.

The Huldra

Also known as the Hylda, Skogsrå, Skogfrus or Forestwives, these creatures from Norse mythology like to hang out in the woods waiting for eligible bachelors to pass their way. They look like beautiful young girls, but underneath their skirts they secretly have a cow's tail. It's said that the cow's tail will fall off if the Huldra convinces a man to marry her, but that she also turns into an old ugly woman as soon as the ring is slipped on her finger.

The Ellepiger

These beautiful creatures of Danish folklore, also called the Alder Tree Girls, appear as beautiful young ladies dancing in the forest. They might seem enticing, but it's not really a good idea to bust a move with an Ellepiger. Once you get close to them, you realize that their backs are hollow, and then you're never heard from again.
