• At Simon's house, Clary is thinking of Jace even though she's letting Simon kiss her.
• She gets a call from Luke that Jace is at his bar, and she rushes off to make sure he's okay.
• They send Jace back to the Institute, and Clary returns home with Simon and Luke.
• Then she gets a call that Jace is in jail in the Silent City. So she rushes off again.
• She breaks Jace out of jail with an Open Rune, but discovers that all the Silent Brothers are dead and Valentine has stolen the Soul-Sword. Uh-oh.
• Everyone is summoned to the Seelie Court where the Faerie Queen tricks Clary into kissing Jace. It's hot.
• Simon runs away, hurt by the kiss, and gets himself killed. Clary buries him in the Jewish cemetery, and he rises as a vampire.
• She mopes around, wracked with guilt, but eventually discovers that she has a new power: she can create new Runes.
• She creates a Fearless Rune, which Jace eventually uses to kill the Fear Demon.
• After Simon gets kidnapped by Valentine, Clary goes to save him.
• She destroys Valentine's ship with her Open Rune, putting a stop to his plans… for now.
• Simon doesn't die, and lives to break up with her.
• Clary decides to tell Jace that she's fine getting it on with him, even though he's her brother, but he has news for her first: he thinks they should just be brother and sister. So sad.
• Heartbroken that she's been dumped by her brother and her best friend, Clary goes to the hospital where her mom lies in a magical coma.
• A mysterious stranger appears, and tells Clary she knows how to wake her mother. The end!
