Character Analysis
Like Lisa's mother, the night watchman is another bit player in the story. When Corduroy knocks over a lamp in the furniture section, the night watchman runs down the escalator and finds the fuzzy culprit hiding under the covers of a display bed. He seems amused, tucks the trespassing teddy under his arm, and carries him back to his shelf, temporarily ending Corduroy's adventures.
That's the extent of his role in the story, although his immediate assumption that the stuffed bear hiding in the bed must have caused the loud crash leads us to think he's got some crazy stories to tell. Somebody call Hollywood: there's a Night at the Museum/Paul Blart Mall Cop mashup just waiting to happen.
