Kristina

There's no two ways about it—Crank's protagonist is Kristina. The book is all about her journey into the dark underworld of drug use, as well as the beginning of her finding her way back out. Not only that, but we can't help feeling invested in her story, hoping that she'll get her act together before it's too late. All Kristina really wants is to be in a place that gives her comfort and a sense of self in the face of her family's issues—and we fear for her wellbeing as she heads down a dangerous path to get it.
