Character Role Analysis
Mom and Dad
They're alike because they're Leigh's parents (okay, that' s obvious), and they both love their son. They also started out being a lot alike when they graduated high school; they loved the truck, life on the road, and playing games at truck stops. Then Leigh was born, and Mom went one way (being settled and taking care of Leigh) while Dad kept on wanting to live the life of the open road. Mom's responsible and grown-up; Dad, not so much. Mom's reliable, Dad's not. Most important, Mom is there. Dad—not. Each of their personalities brings out the differences in the other's.
