Case File: The Entire Human Race Commends Deucalion and Pyrrha
Police Reports
Case Description: After the flood, Deucalion and Pyrrha ended up landing on the peak of Mt. Parnassus. There, they gave thanks to Zeus for sparing them, and prayed to a statue of Themis, looking for advice on how to get the human race revved up again. (We guess the old fashioned way just wasn't fast enough.) The couple received a prophecy that if they threw "the bones of their mother" over their shoulders, then the human race would get going again. Apparently being incredibly skilled at solving cryptic riddles, the two decided that the prophecy considered the earth itself as the mother of all, therefore making the rocks her "bones." So the happy couple chucked some rocks over their shoulders. The rocks that Deucalion tossed turned into men, and Pyrrha's rocks turned into women. Next thing you know, the Earth was jam-packed with humans all over again.
