Dicey and Mina

Dicey: terrified of having friends. Mina: all about having friends.

Although it makes Dicey uncomfortable, Mina keeps reaching out (some would say pushing, but that’s debatable) until Dicey accepts her friendship. When Dicey finally calls Mina to thank her for standing up for her in class, it’s a major moment because it leads Mina to feel comfortable coming over and chilling at Gram’s house.
