How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Dr. No.
Quote #1
DENT: Our attempts failed.
DR. NO: Your attempts failed. I do not like failure.
Bond ends up killing Dent, but we bet if he didn't, Dent wouldn't survive reporting another failure to Dr. No. Also, considering how bad No fails at the missile launch, it's a good thing Bond kills him or he might have had to strangle himself with his own creepy robot hands.
Quote #2
BOND: Those samples Strangways brought back from Crab Key, they were radioactive. Yet Professor Dent told me they were worthless chunks of iron ore.
LEITER: He's either a bad professor or a poor liar.
BOND: And I intend to find out which.
After Bond finds out that Professor Dent is a liar who tried to kill him, Bond shoots him dead. Then he shoots him in the back. A few times. It appears that Dr. No isn't the only man in this movie who gets a little thrill from violent revenge.
Quote #3
HONEY: There was this man who owned the place where we were living. He let me stay on for a while without paying. Then one night he came up to my room...well, you know. I scratched his face, and then...but he was stronger than I was.
BOND: What happened after that?
HONEY: I put a black widow spider underneath his mosquito net. A female, and they're the worst. It took him a whole week to die.
Is there anyone in this movie who hasn't committed some sort of revenge killing? Considering the myriad ways people die in this movie, however, it seems that Honey's rapist got off easy.
