E.T.

E.T. is Elliott's Yoda. Heck, they even look alike. E.T. drops into Elliott's backyard when Elliott needs him most, and drops knowledge the way Elliott drops Reese's Pieces. He teaches Elliott about empathy and discovery, flies him past the moon, and, by the time he heads back to wherever he came from, helps Elliott grow up.
