Orestes

Orestes is the protagonist because everything in the play revolves around him. He's the guy who killed his mother Clytemnestra (in the previous play, Libation Bearers), he's the guy whom the Furies are pursuing, and he's the one who stands trial and is eventually acquitted. Even though he doesn't have that much control over his own actions, all these factors together show us that Orestes is our man.
