Carl Showalter, Gaear Gringrud, and Jerry Lundegaard

These guys are the criminal masterminds of the plot—or would be, if they were all a lot brighter. Carl is the brightest of the bunch, talkative and irritable, with no cool whatsoever, while Gaear is quiet and bizarre. Jerry is generally hapless. In a way, it's not just Marge who takes them down, but their own glaring flaws and missteps. They all lack the ability to anticipate the future or contemplate their next move rationally and deliberately. They just make messes.
