Think of him as the smarty-pants who doesn't really get empathy. Nemur is all about making advancements in the name of science, but he's not too interested in Charlie as a human being. Charlie and Nemur are constantly butting heads because they want drastically different things: Charlie wants a normal life, and Nemur wants Charlie to make him famous.
