Buddy "Cloudy" Russo

Even if real-life Cloudy was his own man, Cloudy-of-the-film is many ways a strict function of Popeye: he supports him, fights for him, and tells other people to lay off when they have usually-valid insults for his mess-of-a-partner.

The last we see of Cloudy is when he's showing Popeye Mulderig's body. And it's not too hard to see that moment of horrified incredulity as a turning point for this true-blue companion. How will Cloudy go on supporting his partner after something like that?
