President Impey Barbicane Timeline and Summary

Barbicane announces to the Gun Club that he wants to build a cannon that can reach the moon.
The group begins planning the project, settling on Florida as the perfect location to launch from.
They arrive in Tampa and begin construction; soon after, Barbicane is contacted by a man named Michel Ardan who wants to be launched into space. Barbicane agrees.
During a public speech, Ardan is confronted by Barbicane's rival Captain Nicholl. Barbicane confronts his foe and challenges him to a duel.
Barbicane gets side-tracked during the duel and forgets about Nicholl. Ardan arrives suddenly and makes peace between the two men.
Ardan also suggests that the three of them go to the moon together. They agree.
Finally, it's the day of the launch. The shot goes off fine, but misses its mark—the capsule is now orbiting the moon.
