Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Scene 9 Summary

  • Amy thanks Russ for everything that he's done for her and Nick. She also goes up to Ron and makes peace, though she playfully rubs some mud in his hands for good measure.
  • They're about halfway through the yard now, so things are looking up. As it happens, Mr. Szalinski is currently looking down at them with his magnifying glasses.
  • The kids see a wonderful sight—a giant cream-filled cookie. They gobble it up greedily before being interrupted by a huge ant, which wants its own piece of the pie. Or cookie. Whatever.
  • Nick gets a brilliant idea—he wants to ride the ant back to the house. Amy warns against it, but the boys eagerly jump on the bug as if it were a bucking bronco.
  • Finally, Amy gets an idea, using a chunk of the cookie to bribe the ant into submission. Clever girl.
  • We cut back to Wayne as he continues his search, suspended by an elaborate weighted contraption. Quark snags the rope, however, and sends dad spinning like an airplane rotor.
  • Meanwhile, the Thompsons are calling the police. At least somebody around here has a brain on their shoulders.
  • Back in the grass, Ron is riding the ant while holding a cookie on a stick to keep it moving forward. The rest of the kids are sitting on a leaf that's attached to its backside.
