Jacob Blau Timeline and Summary

Jacob entered the United States from Poland in 1913. His family was poor.
Jacob puts himself through accounting school.
Jacob marries Esther and has Deborah with her. But they live in Esther's family's house because Jacob doesn't make enough money to live in a house Pop would approve of.
Jacob finally makes enough money to move out of Pop's house.
Jacob loses the account that made living independently possible and has to move back in with Esther's family.
Then Jacob deals with having two girls. He obsesses over sex maniacs trying to get Deborah in particular.
Jacob and Esther take Deborah to a mental hospital because Esther thinks it's best. But Jacob has doubts about it for the next three years, while Deborah's in treatment.
Jacob is finally proud of Deborah when she earns her GED.
