Nicholas "Nick" Ambrosius Gautier Timeline & Summary

Nick is expelled from school for fighting.
That night, he puts his fighting to good use and stops his "friends" from mugging a couple of tourists.
The friends beat Nick, but he is rescued by a mysterious rich dude named Kyrian Hunter.
Kyrian offers to pay Nick's hospital bills and let him work it off. Great deal.
The day Nick returns to school is the day some kid tries to eat another kid. School lunches are really going downhill.
Nick goes to work with Kyrian, and more zombie-like teens show up and attack.
Nick is rescued by a good demon-type person named Acheron, who tells Nick that Nick has special powers.
Later, at Nick's friend Bubba's ammo shop, Nick learns that his lab partner Madaug has created a video game that turns people into zombies. And Roger Ebert says games aren't art.
After meeting a few more supernatural weirdoes, Nick is carried away to a bad guy's lair.
The baddie, called a mortent, wants to use the video game to brainwash Nick into being evil.
If Nick turns evil, he could destroy the world, thanks to those latent special powers of is.
Nick decides not to be evil. If only all battles against evil were this easy.
Nick rescues his friends and returns to Kyrian's house. Nick's mom is there and tells Nick they're no longer living in poverty. Kyrian will let them live with him.
All Nick's problems are solved…until the next book.
