Quint (Robert Shaw)’s Timeline and Summary

Quint offers his services at the town meeting.
He watches in amusement as lesser fishermen try to catch the shark.
He agrees to kill the shark with Brody and Hooper as crew, despite his contempt for Hooper.
He belittles and argues with Hooper for much of the first day of hunting.
Later, though, he bonds with Hooper over their scars and tells the unbelievable story of the USS Indianapolis.
He tries to repair the Orca from the shark's battering, then clobbers the radio when Brody disobeys his orders.
He fails to beat the shark using his usual methods, loses his confidence, and finally agrees to retreat to shallower water.
Despite Hooper's warnings, Quint pushes the boat's engine to the max. Now they're stranded in the ocean with the shark circling.
After Hooper fails to kill the shark and it leaps up on the deck, Quint falls into its mouth and gets chomped dead and dragged into the water.
