Felice

Felice's job is to turn Violet and Joe's frowns upside down. She strolls into their lives a few months after Dorcas's death and, in a super-weird way, makes everyone feel okay. And she works this magic through teaching Joe and Violet about Dorcas and themselves.

By telling Joe that she thinks Dorcas is bad news, Joe is able to let go of his resentment toward Dorcas and only remember her fondly. And simply by being around and letting Violet mother her, Violet is able to lose her hatred for young women and concentrate on how much she likes to nurture.
