Hera in The Judgment of Paris
Hera is the queen of the Gods, and is most famous for chasing after her philandering husband, Zeus, all the time. Myth after myth emphasizes Hera's jealousy and shows her taking horrible revenge on Zeus's lovers and their offspring. In this story, we see Hera's jealousy turned toward other goddesses when she refuses to give up the idea that she's the fairest goddess of them all. Like Aphrodite, Hera's character is revealed through the bribe she offers Paris. When she offers him rulership of Asia and Europe, she shows that she thinks power is most important thing. Which, we suppose, makes a lot of sense for the queen of the Gods.
