Character Role Analysis
Dominique and Trina
While the other traditional character roles are pretty murky, this one is crystal clear. Trina is everything that Dominique isn't. Trina is pink, frilly, colorful; Dominique is hard and invisible. Trina takes notes in class; Dominique does her work in her head. Trina thinks that she's the best artist in the school; Dominique recognizes her weaknesses in basketball and continually works on them.
It's these oppositions that cause Dominique's knee jerk reaction to Trina in the morning, and while the two girls do have some commonalities (difficulty with their social lives being the primary one), it's the differences that cause the attack.
