The Killers

Al and Max make odd antagonists, since as readers we may not be entirely sure that we dislike them. This has a lot to do with their vaudevillian traits – how can we hate comedians? Still, if Ole is our protagonist, his would-be murderers indisputably fit the bill. Even if Nick is the protagonist, men with guns holding him hostage isn’t too likeable either. So let’s just compromise and call them likeable villains. Frenemies, if you will.
