  1. Another Author, Another Colonial Literary Masterpiece
    It might be just us, but we think novels about India are totally awesome. We hope you do, too. Regardless, here's a link to another famous novel about a country rich in culture and great food. A Passage to India gives us another glance into Indian civilization… even if it's still colored by colonialism.

  2. Indian Nights
    Midnight's Children gives a more modern, less culturally biased view of India. If you have students who love Indian culture and history, this could be the book for them. It even blurs the lines between Pakistan and India just like real history and Kim do. Salman Rushdie got into a bit of trouble with the censors, but that's never stopped us here at Shmoop.
