Lines 1121-1127

- Since Maurice is the grandson of the Emperor, that makes him the future Emperor of Rome.
- And one day, he becomes the Emperor, doing great honor to the Church.
- But we're talking about Custance here, so enough about Maurice.
Lines 1128-1141
- When Alla finds the proper time, he returns with Custance to England, where they live in joy and peace. Maybe they send a few postcards to Maurice in Rome.
- Of course, their lives had trials, too. What life doesn't?
- Which brings us to...
Lines 1142-1148
- Before long (before even a year, to be exact), King Alla dies.
- Custance mourns, of course, and then heads back to Rome.
Lines 1149-1162
- Custance arrives back in Rome to find her friends happy and healthy. She reunites with her father again, weeping of course.
- They live happily and virtuously ever after.
- And that's where the Man of Law's tale ends.
