Part of Middlesex appeared in The New Yorker as a short story called "The Oracular Vulva." If you're thinking that's an awesome title, you're right. If you're also thinking I swear that I've seen that somewhere before, you're double right: You also saw it in Middlesex as the title of the first chapter of Book Four. It was so nice, Eugenides used it twice.
